Using recycled materials, crayons, markers and paint you can help add to our ocean mural by creating fish, whales, caves, coral, sea weed or other fascinating features ad animals found in the ocean.
Try your hand at ocean science games and activities. Learn about waves and how the ocean impacts weather, temperature and people everyday.
Explore what you can do to help sea turtles and learn what STOP is doing to keep them safe.
Join the Fort Lauderdale Kite Surfing School to see how much fun kite surfing can be!
Discover the wealth of diverse and beautiful ocean creatures and habitats and how we are all interconnected.
Say “Aloha!” to the legendary surfer Kali ‘da Big Kahuna’ (NSSIA – Master Certified Surfing Instructor, Duke Kahanamoku’s Last Student and nominated as a Cultural Living Treasure in Surfing, State of Florida) and get a few pointers on hanging ten. Participate in a FREE Surf Lessons 101 seminar and obtain your Certificate of Completion.
Many cultures around the world depend on the ocean and respect its awesome power. Learn about Tahitian culture and its wonderful and unique relationship with the sea.
Take a ride with Broward B-Cycle and see how bike sharing can cut down on transparent emissions, traffic and gas

Find out what you can do to help the ocean and see how the Big Blue & You is making a big impact on local ocean conservation.

Join us for a reading of Dr. Seuss’ One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and color your own fish to add to the Museum’s ocean mural.

Learn about Seat Turtle nesting, diet and migration while getting an up-close look at resident Sea Turtle “MJ” during this informative show.
2:30-4:30 p.m.
Grab a fishing pole and try your luck at catching the Big One in the Discovery Center. Once you snag one learn about sizes and types of fish that should be released to keep our oceans healthy.
2:30-4:30 p.m.
Andy Royston will share tips on capturing spectacular ocean photographs with your camera phone and share stories about the creatures he captures in his images.
